First-aid measures

General information : Get medical aid.

First aid measures :

- Inhalation : Assure fresh air breathing. If breathing is difficult, give oxygen. If not breathing, give artificial respiration.

- Skin contact : Remove contaminated clothing and shoes. Wash them up before using them again. Rinse immediately with plenty of water for at least 15 min.

- Eye contact : Rinse immediately with plenty of water for at least 15 min. Occasionally lift up the upper and lower eyelids.

- Ingestion : If swallowed, rinse mouth with water (only if the person is conscious).

Note to physician : treat symptomatically.

Fire-fighting measures

When heated to decomposition, substance emits toxic.

Extinguishing media : appropriate foam, powder, carbon dioxide, water spray.

Protection against fire : Wear a self-contained breathing apparatus in pressure-demand, MSHA/NIOSH (or quivalent) and full protective gear.

Accidental release measures

Personal precautions : Use proper personal protective equipment as indicated in Section Exposure controls and personal precaution.

Environmental precautions : Do not let the chemical enter the environment.

Clean up methods : Collect spills and put it into appropriate containers. Ensure adequate ventilation.

Handling and storage

Storage : Store in tightly closed, properly ventilated containers. Store in dry, dark, cool area.

Handling : Wash thoroughly after hanling. Avoid breathing dust/fume/gas/mist/vapours/spray. Do not get in eyes, on skin or on clothing.

This substance is handled under strictly controlled conditions in accordance with Reach regulation Article 18(4) for transported isolated intermediate. Site documentation to support safe handling arrangements including the selection of engineering, administrative and personal protective equipment controls in accordance with risk-based management system is available at each site. Written confirmation of application of strictly controlled conditions has been received from every downstream user of the intermediate.

Exposure controls / personal protection

Industrial hygiene : Use adequate ventilation to keep airbone conentrations low . Emergency eye wash fountains and safety showers should be available in the immediate vicinity of any potential exposure.

Personal protection :

- Respiratory protection : Follow the OSHA respiratory regulation found in 29 CFR 1910.134 or European Standard EN 149 if exposure limits are exceeded or if any symptoms are experienced.

- Hand protection : Wear suitable gloves resistant to chemical penetration.

- Skin protection : Wear suitable protective clothing.

- Eye protection : Chemical goggles or face shield with safety glasses.
