Description of key information

In accordance with section 2 of REACH Annex XI and Chapter R.7 of REACH guidance on information requirements and chemical safety assessment, the study does not need to be conducted for substances with a boiling point < 30 ºC, as these substances will have a vapour pressure above the limit of measurement (>1x10E5 Pa). This substance has a boiling point of -9.2ºC.
Nevertheless available data show that 1-chloro-1,1-difluoroethane has a vapour pressure of 339 kPa at 20ºC.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Vapour pressure:
339 kPa
at the temperature of:
20 °C

Additional information

Data published in peer reviewed handbook, acceptable for assessment, give a vapour pressure of 339 kPa at 20°C.
