Conclusions:
The partition coefficient (n-octanol/water) of test chemical was determined as per the HPLC method (OECD Guideline-117). The Log Pow value was determined to be 3.748 at 25°C.
Executive summary:

The Partition Coefficient n-octanol/water of test chemical was determined by the Reverse Phase High Performance Liquid Chromatographic method according to OECD Guideline No. 117 for testing of Chemicals. The reference substances were chosen according to functional similarity with the test substance and calibration graph was prepared. The reference substances were Benzophenone, Benzene, Biphenyl, 1,4- Dichlorobenzene, 1,2,4-Trichlorobenzene, Triphenylamine, Nitrobenzene, Naphthalene having Pow value ranging from 1.9 to 5.7 The Log Pow value was determined to be 3.748 ± 0.002 at 25°C.Thus it can be concluded that the test chemical is hydrophilic in nature .

Additional information

The Partition Coefficient n-octanol/water of test chemical was determined by the Reverse Phase High Performance Liquid Chromatographic method according to OECD Guideline No. 117 for testing of Chemicals. The reference substances were chosen according to functional similarity with the test substance and calibration graph was prepared. The reference substances were Benzophenone, Benzene, Biphenyl, 1,4- Dichlorobenzene, 1,2,4-Trichlorobenzene, Triphenylamine, Nitrobenzene, Naphthalene having Pow value ranging from 1.9 to 5.7 The Log Pow value was determined to be 3.748 ± 0.002 at 25°C.

Similarly data from various authoritative databases suggests that the estimated log Pow of test chemical was 3.79.Thus it can be concluded that the test chemical is hydrophilic in nature .
