Observation Table & Result :
The freezing point of a pure sample is
the temperature at which transition from liquid to
solid state takes place at atmospheric pressure.
Quantity of test item used
Type of cooling bath used
Type and model no. of temperature sensor used
Freezing point °C
less than 13.65 °C
The Freezing point determination of
1'-acetonaphthone (CAS No.941-98-0) was done using crushed ice and salt.
No freezing was observed up to -13.65 °C. Hence, the freezing point was
inferred to be less than -13.65 °C at 979.4 hPa.
Based on available data from
authoritative database the freezing point of chemical
1-(1-naphthyl)ethanone is determined to be 10.5 degree C. Other
supporting study from review article also suggests that the freezing
point of chemical 1-(1-naphthyl)ethanone was reported to be 10 degree C, 10.2
degree C & in the range between 9 -10 Deg C.
