Description of key information

Short description of key information on bioaccumulation potential result:
Basic toxicokinetics: supporting studies.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

Supporting studies: experimental results from different publications. It is concluded that:

In rat and mouse, i.p.:

- Ethyleneimine caused a marked diuresis and is excreted mainly in urine after injection.

- The major proportion of the ethyleneimine was eliminated within 4 hr of administration. The amount of ethyleneimine excreted within 6 hr and the 3-day urine volume generally increased as the dose of compound was increased.

In rat, oral gavage:

- Ethyleneimine is metabolized to monoethanolamine and both of them are eliminated with the urine, in a rate depending on the harmful level of ethyleneimine (related to LD50) administered.
