Additional information

A flash point value of -14.3°C was determined for the substance using a relevant test method. The result is considered to be reliable and selected as key study. The key study was selected as the study with the lowest flash point and with highest reliability. In the other secondary sources to which reliability could not be assigned, flash point values of -8°C, -5°C and 15°C were reported for chloro(dimethyl)vinylsilane. Differences in flash point values could be as a result of varying purities for individual commercial samples tested, and the method used.

A flash point of -14.3°C, with a measured boiling point of 84°C, indicates that the substance should be classified as a highly flammable liquid.
