Preliminary test

The estimated flash-point of the test substance was 8.5°C.

Main study

The results of the main study on the determination of the flash-point of the test substance are given in Table 10.

The difference between the results obtained with the two tests was≤2°C. From this, it was concluded that the flash-point of the test substance is the lowest flash-point obtained. The temperature was rounded off to the nearest multiple of 1°C giving a flash point of the test substance of 5°C.

Applicant's summary and conclusion

Conclusions:
The Pensky-Martens closed cup method was applied for the determination of the flash-point of the reaction mass containing mainly 1,2-Dichloropropane.

The flash-point of the test substance was 5°C.
