Biodegradation screening tests in water are available for the substance. It can be concluded from the available screening tests that the substance exhibits inherent (primary) biodegradability, and is therefore not expected to persist indefinitely in the environment.

 

In an OECD 301F (manometric ready biodegradability) study, 9% mineralisation after 28 days was observed based on oxygen consumption (Bayer, 1993). The substance exhibited inherent (primary) biodegradability in OECD 302/302B, EU C.4.D/C.9; mineralisation was ranging from 20 -36% after 28 days based on DOC removal (Bayer AG, 2002).

A non-standard simulation study was conducted using industrial sewage treatment plant activated sludge. A minimum of 7% of the substance was biodegraded in the STP simulation study.
