Data platform availability banner - registered substances factsheets

Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Administrative data

First-aid measures

General advice:

Remove contaminated clothing. If the patient is likely to become unconscious, place and transport in stable sideways position (recovery position). First aid personnel should pay attention to their own safety.

Fire-fighting measures

Suitable extinguihing media:

usual  extinguihing media

Additional information:

Use extinguihing measures to suit surroundings.

Special protective equipment:

Wear a self-contained breathing apparatus.

Further information:

Dispose of fire debris and contaminated water in accordance with official regulations. Collect contaminated extinguishing water seperately, do not allow  to reach sewage or effluent systems.

Accidental release measures

Personel precaution:

Avoid contact with the skin, eyes and clothing. Avoid inhalation.

Environmental precaution:

Do not discharge into the subsoil/soil. Do not discharge into drains/surface waters/groundwater.

Methods for cleaning up or taking up:

Pick up with suitable absorbent material. Dispose of absorbed material in accordance with regulations.

Handling and storage

Handling:

Ensure thorough ventilation of stores and work areas.

Fire and explosion protection:

Prevent electrostatic charge - sources of ignition should be kept well clear - fire extinguihing should be kept handy.

Storage:

Keep container tightly closed and dry; store in a cool place.

Exposure controls / personal protection

Respiratory protection:

Wear respiratory protection if ventilation is inadequate. Gas filter for gases/vapours of organic

compounds (boiling point >65 °C, e. g. EN 14387 Type A)

Hand protection:

Chemical resistant protective gloves (EN 374)

Suitable materials also with prolonged, direct contact (Recommended: Protective index 6,

corresponding > 480 minutes of permeation time according to EN 374):

butyl rubber (butyl) - 0.7 mm coating thickness

nitrile rubber (NBR) - 0.4 mm coating thickness

Manufacturer's directions for use should be observed because of great diversity of types.

Supplementary note: The specifications are based on own tests, literature data and information of

glove manufacturers or are derived from similar substances by analogy. Due to many conditions (e.g.

temperature) it must be considered, that the practical usage of a chemical-protective glove in practice

may be much shorter than the determined permeation time.

Eye protection:

Safety glasses with side-shields (frame goggles) (e.g. EN 166)

Body protection:

Body protection must be chosen depending on activity and possible exposure, e.g. apron, protecting

boots, chemical-protection suit (according to DIN-EN 465).

General safety and hygiene measures:

Handle in accordance with good industrial hygiene and safety practice.. Wearing of closed work

clothing is required additionally to the stated personal protection equipment.

Stability and reactivity

Conditions to avoid:

Temperature >200°C

Avoid all sources of ignition: heat, sparks, open flame.

Disposal considerations

Must be dumped or incinerated in accordance with local regulations.

Contamined packaging should be emptied as far as possible; then it can be passed on for recyling after being thoroughly cleaned. Uncleaned empties should be disposed of in the same as the contents.
