Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

The results from a test performed according to OECD 301 with the substance  1-Propanamine, 3-(isodecyloxy)- was used for read across. The results of the test showed that the substance was biodegraded 68 % at day 28 in the Closed Bottle test.  Based on the biodegradation pathway, it is unlikely that the biodegradability of the hydrophilic parts of etheramine surfactants (isodecyl and tridecyl) will differ significantly. The biodegradability of branched alkyl chains will however differ. 1-Propanamine, 3-(isotridecyloxy)-may therefore expected not be readily biodegradable. However, extrapolation of the ready result obtained with 1-propanamine, 3-(isodecyloxy)- does provide evidence that 1-propanamine, 3-(isotridecyloxy)- will be biodegradable in an enhanced biodegradability test. 1-Propanamine, 3-(isotridecyloxy)- should therefore NOT be classified as persistent.
