Description of key information

One reliable guideline study with the actual substance was performed by Dow according to the guideline. This study is considered the key study. The EC50 was concluded > 105 mg/L based on measured concentration. This value was confirmed by other studies with a structurally similar substance, see read across justification.

Arthur et al (1974) presents 96 hr TL50 (or LC50) results of 80 and 115 mg/L Na3NTA for the amphipod, Gammarus pseudolimnaeus.  Tests were conducted according to APHA (1971) Standard Methods 13 ed.

Additional information

The study by Dow with Daphnia magna according to the OECD guideline 202 with the actual substance showed a measured EC50 value of > 105 mg/L.

Arthur et al (1974) presents 96 hr TL50(or LC50) results of 80 and 115 mg/L Na3NTA for the amphipod, Gammarus pseudolimnaeus. Tests were conducted in soft water according to APHA (1971) Standard Methods 13 ed.

Canton and Slooff (1982) presented a 48 hr LC50 range of 560 -1,000 mg/L but this study was considered not reliable.

Weaver (1967) tested adult snails in soft and hard dilution waters with resulting 96hr TLm of 400 ppm for soft water and 560 ppm for hard water.
