In 2001 a GLP study with sulfopropyl acrylate (SPA) according to OECD 301D was conducted by Mead. The test substance was degraded by 28% within 28 d and thus, can not be considered to be readily biodegradable. The toxicity control was degraded by 27% within 15 d. Since the biodegradation was > 25% the test substance is not considered to be inhibitory to the inoculum.
