First-aid measures

First-aid measures after inhalation : Remove person to fresh air and keep comfortable for breathing.

First-aid measures after skin contact : Wash skin with plenty of water.

First-aid measures after eye contact : Rinse eyes with water as a precaution.

First-aid measures after ingestion : Call a poison center or a doctor if you feel unwell.

Note to physician : Treat symptomatically.

Fire-fighting measures

Suitable extinguishing media : Water spray. Dry powder. Alcohol resistant foam. Carbon dioxide.

Hazardous decomposition products in case of fire : Toxic fumes may be released. Phosphorus oxides. Carbon oxides (CO, CO2).

Protection during firefighting : Do not attempt to take action without suitable protective equipment. Self-contained breathing apparatus. Complete protective clothing.

Accidental release measures

Emergency procedures : Ventilate spillage area. Avoid breathing mist, gas, vapours. Wear personal protective equipment.

Methods for cleaning up : Keep in suitable and closed containers for disposal.

Handling and storage

This substance is handled under Strictly Controlled Conditions in accordance with REACH regulation Article 18(4) for transported isolated intermediate. Site documentation to support safe handling arrangements including the selection of engineering, administrative and personal protective equipment controls in accordance with risk-based management system is available at each site. Written confirmation of application of Strictly Controlled Conditions has been received from every Downstream user of the intermediate.

Precautions for safe handling : Ensure good ventilation of the work station. Wear personal protective equipment.

Hygiene measures : Do not eat, drink or smoke when using this product. Always wash hands after handling the product.

Storage :

Storage conditions : Store in a well-ventilated place. Keep cool. Carefully close all opened container and kept upright to prevent leakage.

Exposure controls / personal protection

Appropriate engineering controls:

Ensure good ventilation of the work station.

Hand protection:

Manipulate with gloves. Gloves have to be controlled before the use. Use a technique of withdrawal of gloves suited to avoid that the skin contacts

the product (i.e. without touching the outside surface of the glove). Throw gloves contaminated after the use according to the current laws and to the

good practices of laboratory. Wash and dry hands. The selected gloves have to satisfy the specifications of the EU Directive 89 / 686 / EEC and in

the standard IN 374 which derives from it.

Eye protection:

Safety glasses with side-shields conforming to EN166. Use equipment for eye protection tested and approved under appropriate government

standards such as NIOSH (US) or EN 166(EU).

Skin and body protection:

Wear suitable protective clothing

Respiratory protection:

Respiratory protection not required. For nuisance exposures use type OV/AG (US) or type ABEK (EU EN 14387) respirator cartridges. Use

respirators and components tested and approved under appropriate government standards such as NIOSH (US) or CEN (EU).

Environmental exposure controls:

Avoid release to the environment.

Stability and reactivity

Reactivity : The product is non-reactive under normal conditions of use, storage and transport.

Chemical stability : Stable under normal conditions.

Possibility of hazardous reactions : No dangerous reactions known under normal conditions of use.

Conditions to avoid : None under recommended storage and handling conditions.

Incompatible materials : Strong oxidizers.

Hazardous decomposition products : Under normal conditions of storage and use, hazardous decomposition products should not be produced.

Disposal considerations

Waste treatment methods : Dispose of contents/container in accordance with licensed collector’s sorting instructions.

Product/Packaging disposal recommendations : Offer surplus and non-recyclable solutions to a licensed disposal company. Contact a licensed

professional waste disposal service to dispose of this material. Dispose of contaminated packaging as unused product.
