Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

Several independant sources indicate that the vapour pressure is 3905 kPa at 25°C and 4080 kPa at 20°C.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Vapour pressure:
3 905 kPa
at the temperature of:
25 °C

Additional information

Differents reliable sources indicate the following results for phosphine :

  • 4080 kPa at 20°C (source: INRS)
  • 3295 kPa at 22°C(source: Biocidal assessment report of aluminium phosphide)
  • 3905 kPa at at 25°C(source: HSDB on the base of Daubert)

Nota: Vapour pressure testing is also not required for chemicals with a standard boiling point of < 30°C as these substances will have vapour pressures above the limit of measurement (i.e. 105Pa), which is the case of phosphine
