Additional information

An acute toxicity study (Envigo, 2016) was conducted to assess the toxicity of the test substance MTF to fish. The study was conducted according to OECD test guideline 203 and EC test guideline C1 and in compliance with GLP.

Groups of 7 rainbow trout (Oncorhynchus mykiss) per dose group were exposed to test media containing MTF under semi-static conditions (daily medium renewal) for 96 hours. Nominal test material concentrations were 0.0950, 0.209, 0.460, 1.01, 2.23 and 4.90 mg/L; control and solvent control groups were also exposed concurrently with the treated dose groups. Test material concentrations were determined by Gas Chromatography with mass Spectrometric detection; the resulting effect concentrations (LC50, NOEC) are quoted in terms of the measured concentrations.

Based on mean measured concentrations, the 96 hour LC50 was 0.544 mg/L (95% confidence limits of 0.480 and 0.643 mg/L), and the no observed effect concentration was 0.401 mg/L.
