Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

The average partition coefficient (log Pow) of 10 fractions of the substance was determined to be 2.8 at 25°C, according to OECD Guideline 117 (HPLC method).

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Log Kow (Log Pow):
2.8
at the temperature of:
25 °C

Additional information

The substance is an UVCB and no information about the correlation between molecular weight and the structural formula of the test item are available. The chromatogram showed a mixture of 10 resolved peaks corresponding to 10 fractions with a log Pow range of 0.8 to 3.7. The Area % weighted log Pow for all peaks of the test item is determined to be 2.8. The percentage of total peak area was 100 %. The logPow refers to the non-hydrolysed form of the substance, as determinations were carried out in organic solvent, and hydrolysis on the HPLC column is not expected.

The main hydrolysis products of the substance are '2-ethyl-2-(hydroxymethyl)propane-1,3-diol, propoxylated, reaction product with methyl 3-oxobutanoate and 3-aminopropyldimethylamine with a measured log Pow of 2.5 and a calculated log Pow of - 0.45, respectively.

For assessment the highest log Kow of 2.8 of the parent substance is taken into account.
