Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

The test substance 4,4’-Difluorbenzophenon was tested in the Fish, Acute Toxicity Test according to the OECD Guideline for the Testing of Chemicals No. 203 (July 1992) using the zebra fish, Danio rerio (Hamilton-Buchanan) as test organism. The experiment was carried out as a static test, i.e. the test substance preparations were not exchanged for the whole exposure period of 96 hours. The results of this study show that the test substance 4,4’-Difluorbenzophenon induced symptoms of toxicity from nominal 50 mg/L upwards and mortality at nominal 100 mg/L within 96 hours to the exposed zebra fish. The LC50 value after 96 h of exposure was > 100 mg/L, based on nominal concentration. Based on measured values the LC50 value after 96 h was > 6.5 mg/L, demonstrating that the LC50 value is above the solubility limit of the test substance under the given test conditions.
