Additional information

The toxicity of di-isopropanolamine to fish was tested in a study conducted in compliance with OECD test guideline 203, using Danio rerio as test species; the 96-h LC50 was determined to be 1466 mg/l in non-neutralized test solutions (nominal; calculated geometrical mean value; LC0 = 1000 mg/L, LC100 = 2150 mg/L). No difference regarding the toxicity of the substance was observed when replicates with pH adjusted test concentrations were used (BASF AG, 1995). This result is supported by a study conducted according to German Standard DIN 38412, part 15 testing the toxicity of the substance to Leuciscus idus in a static test system (BASF AG, 1987).
