First-aid measures

Emergency measure - Inhalation: Remove from exposure immediately. Use a bag valve mask or

similar device to perform artificial respiration (rescue

breathing) if needed. Get medical attention.

Emergency measure - Eyes: Wash eyes immediately with large amounts of water or normal

saline, occasionally lifting upper and lower lids, until no

evidence of chemical remains. Get medical attention

immediately.

Emergency measure - Skin: Remove contaminated clothing & shoes immediately. Wash with

soap or mild detergent and large amounts of water until no

evidence of chemical remains (at least 15-20min). Get

medical attention immediately, if needed.

Emergency measure - Ingestion: If vomiting occurs, keep head lower than hips to prevent

aspiration. Get medical attention immediately, if needed.

Fire-fighting measures

Recommended extinguishing agent: Water spray, dry chemical powder, carbon dioxide,

regular foam.

Product arising from burning: Oxides of Carbon and Nitrogen.

Protective equipment: Use self contained breathing apparatus and full body

protective equipment.

Accidental release measures

Emergency measures in case of spillage: In the event of spillage (open handling) - evacuate

immediate area. Sweep or vacuum up and place in clean, dry

containers for disposal (incineration). Keep out of sewers &

drains.

PPE: respiratory (NIOSH approved), skin and eye protection

to prevent overexposure. (Gloves, Tyvex-Suit & Respirator

with Particle Filter)

Spill-kits, eyewash and safety showers available in all

Formyl Pyrrole handling areas.

Handling and storage

Handling: Avoid contact and inhalation of dust. Operate in areas

provided with efficient local exhaust ventilation systems.

All dispensing, sampling and charging operations to be

carried out in closed systems, i.e. using glove box and

doverpac containment technology.

Handling of Formyl Pyrrole should only be carried out using

nitrile gloves to standard EN 374, safety glasses to

standard EN 166, NIOSH approved full face mask respirator

with a silicon rubber mask to comply with EN 136 and a visor

to standard EN 166. Filter complies with standards EN

141.2000/EN 12941/EN12942.

The product is incompatible with bases and oxidizing

materials.

Keep away from oxidizing substances.

Packaging of the substance and or preparation: The test substance should be packaged in a 500mm x 850mm

double polyethylene liner (e.g., a bag within              a

bag) inside a sealed (e.g., lever lock lid) 31 L UN fiber

drum. The material can be shipped under ambient conditions.
