Description of key information

Substance was tested according to EEC method A.14, Official Journal of the European Communities: 92/69/EEC using tests on thermal sensitivity (effect of a flame) and mechanical sensitivity (shock and friction) to determine its explosive properties (purity 98.0 %, batch no P.601014). According to the test results, the test substance is not considered an explosive.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Explosiveness:
non explosive

Additional information

Substance is not explosive according to the standard method A.14. In an additional test (UN recommendations on the transport of dangerous goods), which is more stringent, some evidence of explosiveness under ver harsh conditions was found. Since all series 2 and 3 tests were negative, substance does not have to be classified as explosive for transport purposes. As such, substance can be regarded as not explosive.

Justification for classification or non-classification

According to standard test method A.14, substance is not explosive.
