Additional information

A study was conducted to assess the potential acute toxicity of MON 13900 to Daphnia magna according to the EPA OPP 72-2 in compliance with GLP. In a preliminary static system at, Daphnia magna were exposed to the test substance in a nominal levels of 10, 25, 50 and 100 mg/L. Based on these results, definitive study was conducted for 48 h in a static system at nominal concentration of 3.3, 6.5, 13, 25 and 50 mg/L. Mean measured concentrations were 2.3, 4.4, 8.4, 17 and 31 mg/L. At the high concentrations, mortality was 25%, and 80% of the Daphnia demonstrated adverse effects. No effects were observed at concentrations below 31 mg/L. Based on mean measured concentrations, the 48-h EC50of the test substance to Daphnia magna under static conditions was determined to be 26 mg/L (95% confidence limits of 17 and 31 mg/L). The NOEC was 17 mg/L based on adverse effects at 31 mg/L.
