Remarks:
or specified in description of method (migrated information)
Remarks on result:
other: cC6O4 ammonium salt could not be ignited during the preliminary test (contact time of about two minutes). Therefore, no main test was performed.

Any other information on results incl. tables

cC6O4 ammonium salt could not be ignited during the preliminary test (contact time of about two minutes). Therefore, no main test was performed.

Applicant's summary and conclusion

Interpretation of results:
GHS criteria not met
Conclusions:
In contact with the ignition source, cC6O4 ammonium salt melted slowly and evolved some white fume. A waxy esidue remained.
cC6O4 could not be ignited with a flame during the preliminary test (contact time of about 2 minutes). Therefore, no main test was performed.
Based on the results of this study, cC6O4 ammonium salt would be not considered "highly flammable" according to the criteria of the guideline.

Considering the similarity of chemical structure between F- Diox potassium salt and cC6O4 ammonium salt, it can be concluded that F- Diox potassium salt has the same property. Therefore it can be stated that F- Diox potassium salt is not flammable.
Executive summary:

In order to evaluate the potential for flammability of F- Diox potassium salt it was deemed appropriate using the Read Across approach based on the experimental study performed on cC6O4 ammonium salt by virtue of similarity of chemical structure between F- Diox potassium salt and cC6O4 ammonium salt.

F-Diox potassium salt and cC6O4 ammonium salt are two salts of the same carboxylic acid, they differ only for the cationic part (K+ in F-Diox potassium salt and NH4+ in cC6O4 ammonium salt). The ammonium cation behaves in a similar manner to the group 1 metal ions, the structure of ammonium salt resembles that of potassium because of their relative size.

The determination of the flammability of cC6O4 ammonium salt was performed in accordance with the EEC Directive 92/69, EEC Publication No. L383, Decembed and Council regulation (EC) No. 440/2008, 30 May 2008, Part A, Method for the determination of physico-chimical properties, A. 10 "Flammability (solids)".

In contact with the ignition source, cC6O4 ammonium salt melted slowly and evolved some white fume. A waxy esidue remained. cC6O4 ammonium salt could not be ignited with a flame during the preliminary test (contact time of about 2 minutes). Therefore, no main test was performed. Based on the results of this study, cC6O4 ammonium salt would be not considered "highly flammable" according to the criteria of the guideline.

Considering that F-Diox potassium salt and cC6O4 ammonium salt differ only for the cationic part of the molecule, and considering that ions K+ and NH4 + do not affect flammable properties of the substance since these ions do not have flammable properties, it can be concluded that F- Diox potassium salt has the same property for flammability than cC6O4 ammonium salt.

Therefore it can be stated that F- Diox potassium salt is not flammable.
