Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Endpoint:
adsorption / desorption: screening
Type of information:
(Q)SAR
Adequacy of study:
supporting study
Reliability:
4 (not assignable)
Rationale for reliability incl. deficiencies:
results derived from a (Q)SAR model, with limited documentation / justification
Justification for type of information:
QSAR prediction
GLP compliance:
no
Computational methods:
Log KOC has been estimated by KOCWINv2 using EPI Suite™ (2000) software.

Key result
Type:
log Koc
Value:
3.3 L/kg
Remarks on result:

Type:
Koc
Value:
3.452 L/kg
Remarks on result:
other: Koc estimate from Log Kow method
Type:
Koc
Value:
518.6 L/kg
Remarks on result:
other: Koc estimate from MCI method
Conclusions:
A Koc of 1985.3 L/kg (log Koc = 3.3) was estimated via KOCWIN.
Therefore the criteria for M/vM are not fulfilled.
Endpoint:
adsorption / desorption: screening
Data waiving:
study scientifically not necessary / other information available
Justification for data waiving:
the study does not need to be conducted because the substance has a low octanol water partition coefficient and the adsorption potential of this substance is related to this parameter

Description of key information

No additional testing is necessary due to the low log Kow of -1.42.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Koc at 20 °C:
1 985.3

Additional information

In accordance with Regulation (EC) No 1907/2006, Annex IX, column 2, the study does not need to be conducted if based on the physicochemical properties the substance can be expected to have a low potential for adsorption (e.g. the substance has a low octanol-water partition coefficient). The log Kow of the substance is < 3. The experimental log Kow (-1.42) is showing that this substance has a low potential for adsorption.

Due to the low log Kow (-1.42) of the test substance the adsorption potential to soil and sediments is low and no additional testing is necessary.

A QSAR calculation (KOCWIN) was done. It resulted in a Koc of 1985.3 / log Koc of 3.3 (mean of MCI and log Kow Method). This shows that the criteria for M and vM are not fulfilled.
