Additional information

Stability

A study was performed to determine the rate of hydrolysis of HMX as a function of pH, according to OECD Guideline 111. HMX is stable at pH 4, 7 and 9. Preliminary testing was carried out at pH 4, 7 & 9. Results indicated the need for extended testing at pH 9.

However T½value of >1 year were obtained at pH 9.

Biodegradation

HMX is not readily biodegradable.

Bioaccumulation

No study is required, as HMX has no potential to bioaccumulate ( Log Kow=0.165).

Transport and distribution

No study is required, as HMX has no potential to adsorbe to soil ( Log Kow=0.165, low Log Koc)
