Registration Dossier

Data platform availability banner - registered substances factsheets

Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Administrative data

First-aid measures

Emergency measure - Inhalation: Administration of oxygen or fresh air. Seek medical

attention. Medical supervision at least 48 hours.

Emergency measure - Eyes: Flush with copious amounts of water under open eyelid for

several minutes. Protect unaffected eye. Seek medical

attention. Medical supervision at least 48 hours.

Emergency measure - Skin: Take off contaminated clothing immediately. Wash affected

areas with copious amounts of water. Seek medical attention.

Medical supervision at least 48 hours.

Emergency measure - Ingestion: Rinse mouth with water. Afterwards drink plenty amounts of

water. Seek medical attention. Medical supervision for at

least 48 hours.

Fire-fighting measures

Recommended extinguishing agent: Adjust extinguishing operations according to the

environment.

Water, dry powder, foam and carbon dioxide.

Product arising from burning: Nitrogen oxides, sulfur oxides, carbon oxides.

Residues of combustion and contaminated water for fire

protection have to be disposed according to competent

authority regulations.

Product determined by test: N

Protective equipment: Circulating air independent respirator.

Avoid inhaling of evolving explosion and fire gases.

Accidental release measures

Emergency measures in case of spillage: Remove potential ignition sources from the affected area and

take measures to prevent static dis-charges. Avoiding the

formation of dust, take up spilled material (e.g. using a

dust-binding agent (...) and/or industrial vacuum cleaner of

approved design) and collect in suitable packing drums for

dis-posal. Label packing drums according to the Technical

Rule 201 when not recyclable and dispose of in accordance

with local official regulations. While taking up the

substance, prevent skin and eye contact as well as

inhalation of it. For this purpose, wear the personal

protective equipment described under "handling".

Do not drain into surface water of canalisation.

Handling and storage

Handling: Inhalation of the substance as well skin and eye contact

with the substance should be avoided. Dust-proof and

grounded equipment should be used during filling and metered

feeding as well as during sampling. In the case of handling

in open systems, any dust that can form should be extracted

safely (in an explosion-proof manner) directly at the point

of origin.

Handle only in rooms with plain, seamless floors and

suitable air suction and filter systems in place.

If technical extraction or ventilation measures are not

possible or are insufficient, respiratory protec-tion (e.g.

:::) should be worn. To avoid skin contact, tested

antistatic protective gloves (e.g. :::) and suitable

antistatic protective clothing (e.g. :::) should be worn. To

avoid eye contact, the wearing of safe eye protection (e.g.

:::) is recommended.

Personal protective equipment:

- filtering half-mask (EN 140) particle filter P2 (EN 143)

- protective gloves category III (EN 374), e.g. Camatril,

Green (Nitril), Art.No. 732, company: KCL, durability:

level 6 (480 min)

- tightly fitting goggles (with lateral protection)

- safety clothing

Eye douches should be made available in the immediate

vicinity of the work area and their location should be

indicated conspicuously. If dust can develop, due to the

potential explosion risk, potential ignition sources should

be removed from the work area. In addition, measures should

be taken to prevent electrostatic discharges. Do not use any

spark-producing equipment or tools.

Industrial hygiene:

Protect against heat and keep away from ignition sources.

Wash hands before breaks and at work finishing time.

Methods for cleaning up:

Take up mechanically. Use appropriate vacuum cleaner for

absorption.

Storage: Keep containers tightly closed.

Static discharges must be avoided. Protect container from

heat and direct insolation. Open handling without suitable

personel protective equipment must be avoided. Avoid

formation of dust. Keep away from nourishments, beverage and

animal food.

Packaging of the substance and or preparation: Polyethylene double-bags in fibre drums (80 l).
