Materials and methods

Test guideline
Qualifier:
no guideline followed
Principles of method if other than guideline:
The freezing and boiling points of the test substance were assessed in triplicate.
Approximately 5-20 mg of the test substance were weighed out into an aluminum DSC pan and covered with a hermetic pinhole lid. During the measurements of the boiling point, the test substance was heated from room temperature to 400°C at 10°C/min in triplicate. During the measurements of the freezing and melting point, the test substance was cooled from room temperature to -80°C at 5°C/min, and then heated from -80°C to 20°C at 5°C/min, in triplicate. The difference in energy outputs from and inputs into the test substance and a reference material was recorded as a function of temperature, while the test substance and reference material were subjected to the same controlled temperature program.
GLP compliance:
no
Type of method:
differential scanning calorimetry
