First-aid measures

Inhalation:

Exposure can result in severe irritation and possible lung damage Remove victim to fresh air at once. Initiate artificial respiration and supply oxygen if needed. Keep victim warm and at rest. Seek immediate medical attention.

Skin and Eye Contact:

Eyes:

Exposure will result in sever irritation. Flush the eyes with copious amounts of clean, lukewarm or cold water for at least 15 minutes (remove

contact lenses if easily possible). Hold the victims eyelids open and pour water slowly over the eyeball(s) at the inner corner, letting water ru out of the outer corner to rinse the substance out of the eye. Seek immediate medical attention.

Skin:

Exposure will result in severe irritation. In case of contact, immediately flush skin copiously with water for at least 15 minutes while removing contaminated clothing and shoes. Wash contaminated skin with soap and water. Cover the irritated skin with an emollient. Wash clothing be ore reuse. Clean shoes thoroughly before reuse. Obtain medical attention immediately.

Ingestion:

May cause burns to mouth, throat and stomach. Do not induce vomiting unless directed to do so by medical personnel. Never give anything by mouth to an unconscious person. Loosen tight clothing. Keep victim warm and quiet. Seek medical attention immediately.

Fire-fighting measures

Suitable Extinguishing Media:

Small fire:

Dry chemical powder, sand or carbon dioxide

Large fire:

Water spray, fog or foam

Extinguishing Media not to be used:

Do not use water jet.

Specific Exposure Hazards:

The substance is not self-igniting or combustible as is, but for a longer period allowing the water evaporation.

Protective Equipment for Firefighters:

Full protective clothing and self-contained breathing apparatus should be worn.

Accidental release measures

Personal Precautions:

Use water spray to reduce vapours. Evacuate personnel from immediate vicinity.

Environmental Precautions:

Prevent entry into sewers, basements or confined areas; dyke if necessary.

Methods for Cleaning Up:

Absorb spillages with a suitable inert material (eg sand or soil). Transfer the spillage to waste containers labelled in the same way as the original containers. Neutralise the residue with a dilute solution of sodium carbonate. Dispose of waste material by incineration or landfill in accordance with local regulations.

Handling and storage

Handling

Precautions:

The substance should be handled under conditions of good industrial hygiene and in conformity with any local regulations in order to avoid unnecessary exposure.

Technical Measures:

Engineering controls such as local exhaust ventilation should be used in order to reduce exposure to the substance.

Exposure controls / personal protection

Engineering Measures:

Engineering controls such as local exhaustventilation are recommended to reduce exposure to the substance.

Specific Control Parameters: None

Personal Protective Equipment:

The provision of personal protective equipment and the need to provide engineering control measures should be decided upon by the user as part of a formal exposure risk assessment.

Based upon the available toxicological information the protective measures described below should be regarded as a minimum.

Respiratory Protection:

Based upon current information and in the absence of occupational exposure limits the use of a dust respirator or self-contained breathing apparatus to a minimum standard of EN149 FFP1 is recommended.

Hand Protection:

Chemical protective gloves to a Standard EN374 should be provided. Usage periods should not exceed the breakthrough times for the chemical stated by the manufacturer of the glove.

Eye Protection:

Eye protection should be used when handling the substance. The protection should be capable of giving chemical protection as classified in Standard EN166.

Skin Protection:

Handling of the material should be done wearing chemical protective clothing suitable for protection against the chemical as classified by Standard EN368.

Environmental exposure controls: Avoid release to the environment.stabilit

Stability and reactivity

The substance is stable under normal conditions.

Conditions to Avoid: None known

Materials to Avoid: Reacts with oxidising agents, alkalis

Hazardous Decomposition Products: None known

Disposal considerations

No specific measures are required prior to disposal.

Waste from Residues:

Dispose of by incineration or landfill in accordance with local regulations. Stack gases should be scrubbed.
