Executive summary:

The flash point was determined using EU Method A.9 using the small scale closed cup equilibrium method under GLP. An aliquot of the test item was transferred to the sample cup of the Setaflash tester. The sample was heated and allowed to equilibrate at the set temperature. Measurements were corrected to 101.325 kPa pressure. No flash was detected below 207 °C temperature, at which the liquid was found to burn. The flash point of the test item has been determined to be > 207 ±2 °C at 101.325 kPa.

Supporting information: Expert assessment based on Boiling Point : EU Method A.2, 1995 :The boiling temperature was determined using EU Method A.2 and OECD Method 103: Siwoloboff method under GLP. During the course of the determinations, there was a gradual change in the appearance of the test item from a clear, colourless liquid to a yellow liquid. The test item was determined to be decomposing in conjunction to boiling. The boiling temperature of the test item has been determined to be 532 ± 2 K (259 ± 2 °C) at 102 kPa. Expert judgement indicates that a Flash Point less than a lower limit of 119 °C at 101.3 kPa, would not be expected. The expected FP > 119 °C at 101.3 kPa.
