Description of key information

DTPA-FeK has no physical/chemical properties that warrant classification. This substance is not produced nor transported as an aerosol nor as a gas under pressure.

DTPA-FeK is a solid (microgranules), odourless, brownish substance.

DTPA-FeK (FeDTPA K) decomposes below melting and boiling point under atmospheric pressure of  1000.7 hPa at 218.7 ± 2.1 °C  (the average value). (Methods: EEC A.1 and OECD No. 102; EEC A.2 and OECD No. 103). The average value of initial  decomposition temperature for DTPA-FeK (FeDTPA K) is 218,7 ± 2,1 °C.

The bulk density for DTPA-FeK is 750 kg/m³.

The particle size distribution of the test substance was determined in a non-GLP study (2018) according to method PN-EN 1235:1999/A1:2004 by using the dry sieve test. There are no particles with aerodynamic diamether less than below 100 µm.

The vapour pressure of DTPA-FeK was calculated by EPI Suite program (Vapor Pressure Estimations (MPBPVP v1.43)):

At 25°C the calculated vapour pressure is 1.82E-5 Pa.

At 25°C the calculated vapour pressure is 1.36E-7 mmHg.

The log Kow = - 11.9 at 25oC.

The water solubility of DTPA-FeK is 1000 g/L at 20oC.

Relative self-ignition temperature of chelate DTPA-FeK is 304.8 °C in accordance with test A.16 criteria.

DTPA-FeK is not highly flammable in accordance with test A.10. criteria.

DTPA-FeK has no oxidizing properties in accordance with the method A 17.

DTPA-FeK chelate does not have explosive properties according to criteria of ECC A.14 Method.
