The substance is an UVCB solid with low melting point at room temperature and a characteristic odour and the melting point of 60 °C and no boiling point.

The relative density was determined as 1.0355 at 20 °C and no granulometry determination can be done.

According to Annex VII of REACH Regulation 1907/2006, column 2, the study of vapour pressure does not need to be conducted for this substance but the lowest value accepted by EUSES has been reported for a complete Risk assessment (0.0000001 Pa).

The substance is a really lipophilic UVCB substance, with an estimated Log Kow > 8.3, therefore difficult to detect (applicability domain). The estimated  Log Kow (KOWWIN v1.68 estimate)is in the range > 5.69 - <= 21.82 The solubility in octanol using the flask method was performed on the substance, resulted in the range of > 39,7 g/L, < 43 g/L.

The water solubility of Ester B was evaluated with a preliminary test and a final test, resulted 0,37 mg/L at 20 °C and pH 6.2. The water Solubility of the major constituent at 25 °C is 2.887e-011 mg/L and the range of the major constituents is between 8.247e-019 - 0.02626 mg/L, therefore it can be assumed that the substance is really insoluble in water (< 1 mg/L).

According to Annex VII of REACH Regulation 1907/2006, column 2, if the water solubility is below 1mg/L at 20°C the test does not need to be conducted. The tested solubility is 0.37 mg/L, therefore this thes is not necessary.

The substance is a solid at room temperature, however it has a low melting point and the flash point has been detected as 221.0 °C.

Ester B is not expected to be auto-flammable, flammable, explosive and it is deemed to be potentially not oxidising based on the chemical structure, the oxygen balance values and the known experience in the handling and use of the substance.
