Additional information

The substance dehydroacetic acid, sodium salt (DHA-Na, CAS 4418-26-2) is characterized by a high water solubility (231 g/L, 20 °C, OECD 105), a low estimated log Kow (-4.38, EpiSuite v4.11, KOWWIN v1.68) and a low estimated log Koc (-0.2667, EpiSuite v4.11, KOCWIN v2.00, MCI method). Based on the physico-chemical properties the substance will preferentially distribute into the water compartment. According to experimental results the substance is readily biodegradable (70% biodegradation after 28 d), which indicates that the target substance will be eliminated in both aquatic and terrestrial environments. Therefore, abiotic hydrolysis is not a relevant degradation pathway.
