Additional information

Short term toxicity tests are available for all the three tropic levels (fish, invertebrates and aquatic plants).

In a key study with Daphnia magna, the 48-h EC50 of Reactive orange 13 was determined to be >100 mg/L. In the study conducted with fish, the LC50 of Reactive Orange 13 was determined to be >100 mg/L and for aquatic algae, the EC50 of the substance was determined to be >100 mg/L. Further, in a key study with aquatic plants (Lemna minor), the EC50 for Reactive Orange 13 was determined >100 mg/L.

Hence, based on the above results, Reactive Orange 13 is not necessary to classify as Aquatic Acute or Aquatic Chronic according to the rules of the Regulation (EC) No. 1272/2008.
