Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

The organic substance is a orange powder at normal environmental conditions. The substance has a melting point >400 °C. The substance starts to decompose prior to boiling and decomposition starts at about 300 °C. The relative density of FAT 40851/A was determined to be 1.717. The mass median diameter (MMD) of test substance was determined to be 3.3 μm. The particle size distribution was found to range from approximately 0.3 μm to 20.0 μm. The vapour pressure was estimated to be 2.70 x 10E-37 Pa at 25 °C based on the boiling point calculated and using the Modified Watson Correlation. Consequently, the partition coefficient (n-octanol/water) of test substance can be calculated as follows: log Pow= log (<0.011 g/L / 88.30 g/L) = <-4. The water solubility of test substance was determined to be about 88.3 g/L at 20 °C and a pH of 6.0. FAT 40851/A was found to be very soluble (> 10000 mg/L). The surface tension of test substance in water (at a concentration of 0.1 %) was determined to be 66.7 mN/m at 19.8 °C. The substance is a solid with a relatively high melting point and the flash point is not a relevant property for this substance type. FAT 40851/A TE is auto-flammable under the conditions of the test. The substance is considered as non flammable, non explosive and non oxidising.
