Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Reliability:
2 (reliable with restrictions)
Rationale for reliability incl. deficiencies:
other: Study well documented and scientifically acceptable
Qualifier:
equivalent or similar to guideline
Guideline:
OECD Guideline 107 (Partition Coefficient (n-octanol / water), Shake Flask Method)
GLP compliance:
no
Type of method:
shake-flask method to: flask method
Partition coefficient type:
octanol-water
Analytical method:
gas chromatography
Type:
log Pow
Partition coefficient:
0.58
Temp.:
25 °C
pH:
10
Conclusions:
The LogPow value amounts to 0.58 (at 25 °C and pH 10).
Executive summary:

The octanol-water partition coefficient of the substance Butyldiethanolamine was experimentally investigated according to standard methods (shake-flask method) equivalent to OECD Guideline 107 without GLP compliance (BASF AG, 1993). Three different concentrations were measured individually. Monitoring of substance concentrations by GC took place in both equilibrium phases. The LogPow value was determined to be 0.58 (at 25 °C and pH 10).
