Description of key information

The substance is a dark brown powder at 1013 hPa and 20 °C.

The substance decomposes before melting or boiling between 287 and 417 °C. During the DSC analysis a negative peak associated to the release of water/ solvent was observed at 100 °C, followed by degradation; the relative density was determined by means of a pycnometer and recorded at 1.460 at 20 °C. The particle size distribution was analyzed using the Mastersizer 2000 tool and the MMD resulted to be 59.452 µm. The substance is very soluble in water (89.42 g/l at 20 °C and pH 5.96) and the Kow value was calculated as 0.0149 (average log Kow: -1.8382).

Properties like vapour pressure, surface tension and flash point were not relevant. The substance has no low autoignition temperature, it is not flammable, not explosive and it is deemed to be potentially not oxidising based on the chemical structure, the negative oxygen balance values and the known experience in handling and use.
