Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

Not readily biodegradable according to OECD criteria; but (inherently) biodegradable after an adaptation phase.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

The substance was biodegraded in a closed bottle test conducted according to OECD 301 D (BASF AG, 1999). The substance was degraded to 70-80% BOD/ThOD after 28-d. As the 10-day window was not met, the substance is not readily biodegradable according to OECD criteria.

However, tests performed according to OECD guideline 302 B with industrial activated sludge (BASF AG, 1979) indicate easy elimination of the test substance from water after a lag phase of 10 days.

Therefore, the test substance is of not readily biodegradability in terms of OECD criteria, however, it can be easily eliminated from water due to biodegradation after an adaption phase.
