Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Additional information

Biodegradation in water:

Estimation Programs Interface Suite (EPI suite) was run to predict the biodegradation potential of the test compound Undecenal (CAS No. 1337-83-3). The screening test inherent to the biodegradability of the substance was calculated using the software BIOWIN v4.10. The results indicate that Undecenal is expected to be readily biodegradable.

Bioaccumulation: aquatic / sediment:

From EPI suite and PBT profiler estimated tool the bioaccumulation factor (BCF) of test substance Undecenal was found to be 9.1 L/Kg. This low value of BCF of Undecenal (Cas no.1337-83-3) indicates that , it’s non bioaccumulative nature as the BCF factor is less than the bio-concentration threshold of 2000.

Adsorption / desorption:

From EPI suite KOCWIN Program (v2.00) predicted model the soil adsorption coefficient (Koc) value of undecenal is estimated to be 852 L/kg i.e log Koc=2.930 at 25 deg C,this log Koc value indicating that it is has a Moderate sorption to soil and sediment and therefore have slow migration potential to groundwater.
