Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

DISSOCIATION CONSTANTS IN WATER
Testing was not possible according to Method 112 of the OECD Guidelines for Testing of chemicals, 12 May 1981 due to the absence of any dissociating functional groups within the pH range of the test methods.
Therefore, estimates were obtained using ACD/I-Lab Web Service (ACD/pKa 8.03), computer based estimation software.

Additional information

Testing was not possible according to Method 112 of the OECD Guidelines for Testing of chemicals, 12 May 1981 due to the absence of any dissociating functional groups within the pH range of the test methods. Therefore, estimates were obtained using ACD/I-Lab Web Service (ACD/pKa 8.03), computer based estimation software.

Using the software, the following was obtained:

Dissociation Constant

Result

Functional Group

pKa1

2.24 ± 0.50

Triazine

pKa2

1.81 ± 0.50

Triazine

pKa3- pKa10

<0.00

8 x Sulphonic acid groups

From these results, it can be determined that the substance would always be ionised at environmentally relevant pH’s.
