Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Reference
Endpoint:
particle size distribution (granulometry)
Type of information:
experimental study
Adequacy of study:
key study
Study period:
10 June 1992 to 12 November 1992
Reliability:
1 (reliable without restriction)
Rationale for reliability incl. deficiencies:
comparable to guideline study
Qualifier:
no guideline followed
Principles of method if other than guideline:
The study could not be performed in accordance with the OECD guideline 110 as the particle size distribution is too large to be analysed by any of the suggested methods. Sieving method using 'Alpine Luftstrahlsieb' with mesh sizes in accordance with DIN 4188 was applied.
GLP compliance:
yes (incl. QA statement)
Type of method:
sieving
Type of distribution:
mass based distribution
Specific details on test material used for the study:
Product Designation: Erionyl Rot HT 3728
Identification : FAT No. 45155/B , Vers.Nr. /TV1
Storage: Room temperature, 20 - 24 °C, protected from light
Percentile:

Conclusions:
The Median of mass distribution (width) of FAT 45155/B was 410 µm.
Executive summary:

In a GLP-compliant and guideline equivalent test, the median of mass distribution (width) of FAT 45155/B was performed by the sieving method. 0.5 to 20 g of the test substance are analysed with sieves of successively coarser mesh sizes. Sieving with each mesh size is repeated until less than 1 % change in weight of the residual substance is observed within 180 s sieving time. Based on the study results, median of mass distribution (width) of FAT 45155/B was determined to be 410 μm, and over 98 % of the particles were larger than 40 μm.

Description of key information

The median of mass distribution (width) of test substance was determined to be 410 μm.
