Description of key information

Flash point was measured for the members of the Rosin esters category that are liquid at room temperature. Flash points for Rosin ester substances range from 186 to 239°C.

The flash point of Resin acids and rosin acids esters with triethylene glycol is 214.5°C (corrected due to barometric pressure).

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

A GLP compliant study, conducted according to EU A9 closed cup method, was provided for Resin acids and rosin acids, esters with triethylene glycol (Chilworth Technology, 2010a). Supporting data from a study conducted according to ASTM D93 -94 closed cup method is also available (Chilworth Technologies, 2000a).
