Test animals / tissue source

Species:
rabbit
Strain:
New Zealand White

Test system

Vehicle:
unchanged (no vehicle)
Controls:
yes, concurrent no treatment
Amount / concentration applied:
0.1 ml
Duration of treatment / exposure:

Details on study design:
Animals were individually housed. One rabbit was initially treated. The test material was instilled into the conjuctival sac of the right eye. The left eye remained untreated and was used for control purposes. Immediately after administration of the test amterial, an assessment of the initial pain reaction was made. After consideration of the ocular responses produced in the first treated animal, two additional animals were treated.
