Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

Single values for the category or individual UVCB members are not applicable. Gasoline naphthas are classified for flammability based on flash point data. The flammability range for substances that comprise the gasoline naphthas category is 1.4% (LFL) to 7.6% (UFL) (Eaton 1990).

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Flammability:
extremely flammable

Additional information

The flammability range of 1.4% (LFL) to 7.6% (UFL) was obtained from the Eaton 1990 publication and the CONCAWE Category Justification Document, based on data for gasoline. The data are considered reliable. For Liquids, only flash point data are required to characterize flammability, as specified in REACH Technical Guidance on Information Requirements / CSA, section 7.1.10.

Justification for classification or non-classification

Gasoline naphthas are classified as 'Extremely flammable' (H224), unless flash point and boiling point data meet criteria for 'highly flammable' (H225) or 'flammable' (H226).
