According to OECD404 a skin irritation study was performed in rabbits. 3 animals were used. Corrosion was observed in all animals after a 4 hour exposure < 14 days.
In accordance with column 2 of REACH Annex VII, the eye irritation test (required in section 8.2) does not need to be conducted as the substance met the classification as corrosive to the skin.

Based on the available data sodium sulfide (Na2(Sx)) is classified as Skin Corr. 1B.
