In an eventual release of carbon disulfide into the environment, CS2will partition to the air compartment. It does not have affinity to the water and sediment/soil, due to its high volatility and low adsorption coefficient. It is a stable substance, it does not hydrolyze and the phototransformation half-life is between 5 to 15 days. Moreover, is readily biodegradable substance and has no potential for bioaccumulation.
