Administrative data

Endpoint:
acute toxicity: inhalation
Type of information:
experimental study
Adequacy of study:
supporting study
Study period:
1951
Reliability:
4 (not assignable)
Rationale for reliability incl. deficiencies:
other: The study did not meet current guideline requirements for acute inhalation toxicity. It does however add weight of evidence for trichloro(phenyl)silane toxicity.

Qualifier:
no guideline followed
Principles of method if other than guideline:
Two methods were employed in determining inhalation toxicity; 1. A 4 hour exposure exposure of 6 rats to 500 and 1000 ppm vapour. 2. Exposure of 6 rats to substantially saturated vapour at room temperature, and the time it took til death.

Applicant's summary and conclusion

Conclusions:
The mortality data presented here was determined in a study which did not meet current guideline requirements for inhalation toxicity. No LC50 was derived. It does however add to the weight of evidence of trichloro(phenyl)silane toxicity.
