Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

The particle size is not an intrinsic substance property, but depends on the grinding of the material after drying. The D50 of the powdery substance may vary between ca. 70 and 300 µm. No remarkable amounts are below 10 µm.

Additional information

The particle size distribution of the test item was determined in by two methods:

Using the sedimentation (fixed pipette) method (OECD 110) the particle size distribution shows a continuous distribution from approximately 12 µm, (leaving a fraction of less than 10% below 10 µm) to approx. 70 µm.

Using the sieve tower method (DIN 66165) the testing of the substance results in an average particle size (D50) of 175 µm resp. 300 µm.

The particle size of the substance predominantly varies with the grinding of the material.

The occurrence of alveolar particles can be neglected.
