Description of key information

Hydrolysis is not possible as potassium thiosulfate dissociates rapidly into thiosulfate anions and potassium cations and is transformed e.g. by oxidation, reduction, speciation, precipitation in environmental solutions. Accordingly, data available on an analogue substance (disodium thiosulfate , CAS 7772-98-7) according to a OECD 111 (Hydrolysis as a function of pH) conform study show no indication of hydrolysis for the test substance in aqueous media.
