Data platform availability banner - registered substances factsheets

Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Results and discussion

Any other information on results incl. tables

Absorption and metabolism: The high water solubility (>1561 g/l) and the partition coefficient (log Pow -2.9) of the substance indicate that a passive absorption by diffusion through cell membranes including dermal absorption may be limited. According to the results from animal testing, the substance was relatively well absorbed from the gastrointestinal tract and from skin. It can be assumed that the corrosive properties of the substance would have enhanced its uptake. Nevertheless, the bioaccumulation potential is negligible and metabolic degradation such as e.g. enzymatic hydroxylation and transformation of the functional groups is conceivable.

Distribution and excretion: The substance and its metabolites are anticipated to be distributed from the hepatic portal vein into the liver and into the kidneys where the soluble metabolites, including conjugated metabolites, are excreted via urine.

No other indications on the toxicokinetic behaviour of the substance could be derived from the results of the available studies.
