First-aid measures

Inhalation: Take the person out to fresh air, rest and seek for medical attention. In case of unconsciousness place patient stably in side position for transportation.

Contact with skin: Remove contaminated clothes. Wash skin with plenty of water and soap and seek for medical attention. Wash contaminated clothing before reuse.

Eyes: Rinse with plenty of water, keeping eyelids open for several minutes. Seek for medical attention.

Ingestion: Rinse mouth. Give slurry of activated charcoal in water to drink. Seek for medical attention.

Fire-fighting measures

Use water or carbon dioxide as extinguishing media. Flood with water.

Use fire extinguishing methods suitable to surrounding conditions.

Firefighter should be equipped with self-contained breathing equipment.

Accidental release measures

Spills should be contained, do not allow the chemical enter to the environment.

In case of dusts, use personal protection P2 filter respirator.

Collect up, if spilled in a solution absorb with liquid-binding material (sand, diatomite, acid binders, universal binders, sawdust) and deposit in adequate waste containers for elimination. Clean remains with water.

Handling and storage

Obtain special instructions before use.

Ensure good ventilation/exhaustion at the workplace.

Prevent formation of aerosols if available in a solution.

Avoid breathing dust/fume/gas/mist/vapours/spray.

Open and handle receptacle with care.

Store in corrosive-resistant container with a resistant inner liner.

Suitable material: glass and stainless steel. Material suitable at low temperatures: PP polypropylene, PE poly-ethylene, PVC polyvinylchloride. Unsuitable material: base metals.

The resistance of metals largely depends on concentration and temperature.

Locate away from sources of heat or ignition.

Store away from incompatible materials.

The substance itself is not combustible.

In case of contact with base metals hydrogen may develop, forming explosive mixtures with air.

Site documentation to demonstrate safe handling arrangements in accordance with risk-based management systems is available in the Manufacturing site.

Respiratory protection: Local exhaust ventilation. If vapors/mists are generated use breathing protection type ABEK (EN 14387:2004 - Filters - gas or gas and combined)

Hands protection: use suitable gloves in case of handling (Butyl rubber, Neoprene, Natural rubber, Polyethylene, Polyvinyl chloride or Teflon). Recommended Performance Level 6 (Breakthrough Time >480 min) according to EN 374.

Eyes protection: use suitable goggles in case of handling (Chemical Splash Goggles).

Skin and body protection: Wear protective clothing

Stability and reactivity

Stable at low temperature. Decomposition may occur at > 120ºC.

Incompatibility: strong bases, alkalis, strong oxidizing agents, base metals.

Hazardous decomposition products: NOx, SOx, ammonia

Disposal considerations

Must not be disposed together with household garbage.

Do not allow product to reach sewage system.

Must be disposed of or recycled according to relevant national and local regulations.

Some recommended treatments are stabilization and inertization through neutralization.
