Description of key information

Inherently biodegradable according to OECD criteria: 96% after 30 days based on DOC removal (OECD 303 A).

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

One reliable non-GLP simulation test with C16-18As Na (CAS 68955-20-4) according to OECD 303 A guideline is available (Richterich 2001). Adapted activated sludge from municipal sewage treatment plant was used as inoculum and the initial concentration of the test substance was 20 mg/L as DOC. The inoculum was adapted to synthetic waste water for one week. Biodegradation measured as DOC removal reached 96% after 30 days. In conclusion the substance is inherently biodegradable.
